To bring awareness to Breast Cancer awareness month Three French Hens and The Roost are participating in project

PAINTED PINK

A young lady with Oohlala Furniture on facebook began this movement and asked anyone who painted furniture to join in. As participants paint a piece of furniture pink they then place it up for auction. The highest bidder receives the pink treasure and the money raised goes to the charity of your choice in the fight to conquer cancer once and for all.

My mother battled that monster and we knew right away we wanted to participate in this brilliant idea.

We have chosen to dedicate our sweet french pink cabinet to a young lady from Murfreesboro Tennessee named TAY FILORIMO.

Tay is a precious young lady that should not have to be fighting an adults illness but is doing so with great courage and determination. Her motto is--CANCER WILL NOT STRIKE HER OUT !! Very fitting for a tough young softball player !

We will donate the highest bid to Tay.

How does one describe
BELLA RUSTICA ???

First I must tell a little story.

A couple of years ago I was sitting at the desk/counter at Three French Hens when through the door from the lobby walks in an attractive lady dawning her beautiful auburn hair and bright smile. WELCOME I announced as I do to everyone that honors us by visiting our shops.

She stands there in a silent look of sort of bewilderment.

I ask "are you out looking for anything in particular"?

She responds with a "I have been looking for this place for a while". Thinking she had been lost I apologized and said I thought we were rather easy to find. NO silly--that is not what she meant at all. Her response--"no no-I have not been lost-I mean I have been looking for a while for a shop that "gets it".

A shop that fulfilled her need for creativity--for repurposing great old vintage items-a shop that loved aged finishes and respected rust- that put as much heart and soul on the display of their treasures as anything else.

The next thing I know I am in a big ole conversation with a kindred spirit. My new friend had recently moved back to Tennessee from Texas. We talk about Round Top--we talk about great barn sales and then my new friend poses the challenge....we need to have a Barn Sale here !! OMG--would that ever be the best?!! I read about these wonderful events on blogs-I drool over the photos-I dream of meeting The Barn House Boys-I fantasize about getting Heather Bullards autograph-etc etc.

Have you guessed yet who my new friend is?????

YEP--that precious smile on the right is my wonderful friend Linda Lindley. That woman that walked through Three French Hens door a couple of years ago that had a vision.

A vision that was INCREDIBLE !

She was such an inspiring leader.

AND....that other beautiful smile on the left belongs to Art Woods.

Art also works for AGAPE and to say he was a huge help is such an understatement.

He worked for EVERYONE ! Willingly-with loving heart-true passion and diligent determination to make this first Barn Sale the best for everyone.

These two faces ARE the reason Bella Rustica was

The sign of a successful show is when numerous people ask--

"how many years has the show been going on"?

Amazement filled their faces when we would respond-this is a first !

First let me take you in to our "Spooky Room"

as we refered to it

by one of our wonderful dealers Jodie Hailey

shows how we can take vintage items and evolve them in to a Spooky Loveliness.

After seeing so many chest of drawers and other items on many blogs painted with the Union Jack flag we decided to pay homage to our great country...the USA. Planning the show several months earlier we found it ironic and very appropriate that we have an Americana area one week after the tenth anniversary of our great country being attacked on 911. There is nothing prettier than the red white and blue !

Nothing says America like a car door off of a 65' Mustang ! Art comes in all forms and when Debbie and I spotted this on our great trip to the 600 mile yard sale we both squealed with joy.

We had so much joy explaining to the salesman at the scrap yard that

NO..this wasn't for our husbands

NO...it did not matter that "the windows are in perfect shape"

NO...neither one of us own a 65' Mustang

But YES...it would become wall art !

Didn't it turn out great ?

...and no the poor fellar still does not understand !

We have said before how we love to re-purpose items. Notice the red light hanging.

That is the top to an old chicken incubator that we had wired to light.

Isn't it just fab !!!

Would make a great light over an island or pool table.

Our booth in the downstairs of the booth was approximately a 10x60

Therefore we hads LOTS of room to play and display much loveliness !

The opposite end of our space we chose to go with a more romantic-shabby chic look

with a splash of handmade art signs and crosses made by Blake Harris

Below is a gorgeous vanity painted in a yummy shade of lavendar and white-waxed to aged perfection

This sale is a first for Tennessee.

The line up of vendors participating makes my heart skip a beat.

Our dear friend, Linda Lindley has had a dream for some time to see an event such as this come to fruition.

Linda works for a wonderful non profit organization called AGAPE . This event is a two fold opportunity-a chance to showcase inspiring vintage finds and creations as well as a fund raiser for an organization that works passionately for others.

We (who is we you ask), the Bella team of Stacey,Debbie, Mary and Blake. We are crazy busy painting-nailing-sewing... creating some fabulousness to unveil at our space which will be in the main barn but downstairs. Yes you read that right--we are in the downstairs of the barn--a way cool area. Be sure and look for us. Here are a few BEFORE pictures of our "crib".

WORLDS LONGEST YARD SALE or BUST !!!

       So at the last minute Debbie and I say "lets go for a couple of days to the Worlds Longest Yard Sale-never done that before". What a great decision ! On Thursday morning we planned to hit the road at 6am-beat the morning traffic out of Nashville and be on our way. So as we pulled out of the parking lot at the Roost with the trailer in tow at 9:30am ( I confess-that is in Stacey style) we were off. We have learned at our age to not stress over the "getting away" times...it is what it is. There is always plenty of "stuff" out there be it market in Atlanta or an auction or...well you get the picture. But hey...the traffic out of Nashville was a breeze :>)
   So speaking of pictures let me share the first one of our journey ( BEWARE -some pictures may contain questionable content :>) Did not always notice every detail through the lens...

Poor fellow-managed to catch him right as he was using his shirt to wipe the sweat. Pardon me ! But check out the great little pedal car to his right. Stops like this are one after the other on the highway. Think us girls are in TROUBLE !

Next...

Us girls realized something early on...must learn how to back trailer before next years sale. These were the type of areas we had to stop because we could NOT back up the trailer. One direction for us.......STRAIGHT ! It really brought us allot of laughs along the way and probably saved us allot of money !
Next....

Cumberland Mountain General Store Around the corner, still in Tennessee we come to this precious little store. What you can't see are the hundreds of tents of vendors to either side of the store and around back. This was a fabulous stop that we left with hands full...actually made two trips to the truck to unload and go back in for more. Can't reveal what we found as it is a surprise to be revealed at an upcoming show we are doing September 16-17 . Go check out the details at www.bellarusticanashville.blogspot.com. Will show you something we did not get and regret...waaaaaaaaaaa

     How wonderful is this old bike???? ( and the two crusty old tables in the background and the other bikes--we must have been out of our minds to leave them behind )
           Oh well ! Many more treasures along the ride -we must move on but if you are planning this trip you need to mark this as a stop for sure !!
                                                                      Next.....

    After lots of other stops not photographed we arrive on this beautiful -pictures do not do justice area in Kentucky. Yes we have crossed state lines and are now traveling through the Bluegrass state. Only problem-we rarely know where we are because our map is only Tennessee :>) Minor details...
     The far right white roof is an old general store-probably been there a hundred years. People just set up these tent "malls" all along the route. The roads along the route through Kentucky wind around and up and down hills and as we topped a hill and began coming down this is what was nestled in the holler. Had to stop. Made no purchases here but worth the experience none the less.
       You may notice in this picture it is beginning to get dusk. Guess what-remember this trip was planned on the fly ? So now where are we going to stay as we have no reservations. Warning-we were not traveling through big towns-probably saw two hotels the entire time. But before we could find a place to lay our weary little heads we were starved.
        Destination...Albany Kentucky---a wonderful little meat and three filled our tummies and led us to our resting destination. Thank goodness the junking Gods were watching over us and they had "A" room left. Monticello Kentucky would be home for the night ! First day report....A+
                                                                          Next.......

Did I ever say we were in God's Country while on this trip ? If not I should have. Highway 127 from Crossville to where we eventually had to stop in Liberty Kentucky is simply gorgeous ! Had to drive 20 miles off the path to find our hotel but it was very worth it. Stayed in a Holiday Express in Monticello that has changed names but sorry...have no idea what the name is. The only room available was a King jacuzzi and we said fine as long as shes clean I would sleep in the tub is necessary. Got many chuckles from that meaning in literal sense. Jacuzzi right next to bed. I guess Debbie and I finally made it to our honeymoon. We have after all been together a long time-like 1978 ! (wonderful friendships endure)

So....Debbie's body clock goes off-up and showering at 6am for another day of hunting. During continental breakfast at the hotel met two wonderful couples also shopping the sale. One from New York state and the other from Florida. So sorry I did not write names down to share. I am getting too old but we so enjoyed our conversations with them. Both couples have come for the sale several times. Just another bonus from this trip-the great folks you meet and conversations you have.

Next......

Across the street from the hotel-not exactly the same view at home across from our hotels. If I had a quarter for every cow -every field of soy beans and every corn field we passed we could have brought home many more treasures.
It was a beautiful morning to be a junker !

Know it is a bad photo but it is our home away from home AND after all where Debbie and I spent our honeymoon ! hehehe

I just loved the quirky little gimmicks people had with their spaces. A sweet little BBQ joint--only in America !

This stop was a score ! We found some great things and this time I am going to give a little peak.

How AWESOME is this little beauty !!! I sit here and fantasize about all the trips I want to take in my hot pink camper. Not sure if that color is original but I L O V E I T !

Love love love the story behind these two finds. A gentleman that is handicap takes old discarded trucks and cars that are missing wheels and different parts and puts them back together to make a whole unit again--notice on Big Bubba his different wheels. Love the trucks but love the story more. Had to have them !!! Welcome to " Pioneer Antiques and Collectibles and Granny's Soda Shop "

Located in south Jamestown Kentucky this stop in the road was fantastic. Picturesque -Primitive and lots of rust...everything that makes two hens HAPPY ! Check out this treasure that sits out front--too bad it was not for sale :>(

Did I say...I love rust ? Wish we could have brought this back for Linda

Take a break inside with Clara-Sandy and Erin and have them serve you up a big ole scoop of ice cream.....Delish!!!

Right outside this antique shop was a tent with amazing BBQ-Ribeye and more delights--these are the ones I remember as we indulged for lunch. Reruns BBQ and catering of Columbia Ky--great food and sweet folks ! You gotta love this trip ! Belly's full and time to hit the road. ( by the way-seeing I look like a bag of hot pink cotton candy and Debbie did not tell me-weight watchers starting Monday :>)

Big weakness.....fury babies. Debbie says I would talk to anybody or anything ! Well I would have to agree but especially puppies.     Meet Chloe and Clifton (I think I have their names right-hopefully mommy and daddy will see their photos and correct me if I am wrong-sorry) Sweet girl on the left and her son on the right. Both were precious and the Mr...he was quite a performer. He bounced for us-backed up-healed -wove in and out of his owners legs----gave us quite a show. Yes I would have brought them home too if I could. Lovely visit but on for more treasures

Another corn field-more sales and more fury friends. Many of the next vendors were Amish.

She is hot but ready for more--isn't that what you are suppose to say on your honeymoon?!? (sorry but could not resist)

I spy a chicken coop ! So sad we were gonna get it when we would leave but someone else was loading it up. You snooze -you lose ! Now I know how our customers feel sometimes when they come back for a treasure and it is gone-wa!

I wanted this little guy ! Isn't he beautiful??? But Debbie said no - SO......

When she wanted this guy that was churning the ice cream that the young Amish children were making and selling I had to say--sorry dear but no. What is fair in a marriage is fair ! hehe I know -now I am losing it.

                These were the last photos I had taken of our journey. Memories Debbie and I will cherish and will repeat next year for sure. Put this on you bucket list in life--well well worth it. Also don't forget to put the Barn Sale at Tap Root Farms----BELLA RUSTICA on that list too so that you can see all the many treasures we purchased and will be for sale-they will not disappoint !

Changes taking place at TFH. We are sad to see one of our wonderful dealers leave that started with us from the beginning..Dorothy Woodward will be missed more than she will ever know.We are excited for her new adventures in life as long as that includes visiting often. Her creativity is priceless and unique and we were blessed to be a part of it.

She inspires us all !

Us Hens are on FIRE ! In more ways than one. Thanks as always to our fabulous customers we are selling just almost as fast as we can paint-buy and display. The physical heat should have me at a size five by fall. ( a girl can dream ) And last but certainly not least we have added two great new dealers as they have waited a while to get in and are certainly an added asset. I will add photos of their new vintage treasures in the next couple of days.

We have THE BEST customers ! Yesterday we celebrated our 2nd year of business and boy was it a party !!! The store was bustling with our great faithful customers and lots of new faces in the crowd. Everyone enjoyed delicious delectables the dealers brought in along with a slice of birthday cake. We are so humbled by our beginnings. Lots of purchases and countless compliments of our wonderful two shops. We sincerely appreciate it all so very much.

For those that could not be with us here is a little peek in the store. The lobby has taken on a garden look that began with a wonderful vintage chenille bedspread that offered our inspiration to the room.

To our followers that introduced yourselves and knew what kind of sweet puppies Debbie and I have so glad you were able to use the savings offered. Keep reading and watch for more savings.

The show is filled with amazing booths that are sure to inspire you as garden season has arrived.

One of the best shows to purchase plants-get ideas and of coarse check out some new great items that the HENS just got in especially for the show.

Our booth is dripping of white, cream and zinc with a dabble of green from our beautiful live plants. Come get a miniature gardenia or how about a moonflower vine ??? Three French Hens and The Roost closed Sunday April 2nd

     Today is a day of mourning of one of our dear friends and dealers BARBARA WELLS.
     Both Three French Hens and The Roost will be closed to honor our very special friend.
       She brightened our lives with her contagious smile-her abounding energy and her positive attitude.
She and her husband Dan, both in their 70s were ALWAYS the first out to volunteer their time helping to do anything needed to make our stores the best they could be. As two of the first dealers to secure space when we first opened our doors they were always lending a helping hand. I can hear Barbara saying now-"that is what God would want me to do and I am not taking any money for it either"! She was one of God's most beautiful treasures -no question about that. We have countless memories that we will treasure forever. The concrete one that will remain in the store is a sign Barbara had hanging in their booth that reads..."This is not a museum-this junk is for sale". The chuckles that has brought to so many customers will continue to do so as long as we are open. It is a priceless reminder that we will treasure of our sweet Barbara and her sense of humor and life. She was truly one of a kind. Barbara loved life-adored her daughter Renee and her grand kittys and her husband Dan-he was simply everything to her. Their love for each other was so visible is was contagious. Barbara was a people person, a riot to be around. She loved her yard -it was impecable ! And did I mention she was probably 90 lbs soaking wet ! She made us much younger girls look like we were sitting still with her energy and get it done attitude. I know I personally am a much better person because Barbara Wells is my friend and I had the blessing of knowing and loving her .
     Please extend prayers to her husband Dan and her daughter Renee as their hearts heal until the reunite again .



WELLS, Mrs. BarbaraAge 75 of Franklin, TN. Surrounded by family and friends, Barbara Wells was called home on April 1, 2011 after a courageous fight with brain cancer. She is survived by her loving husband, James "Dan" Wells; her loving daughter, Renee Wells and lifelong friends, Rick and Sandra Kline. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. on Sunday, April 3, 2011 which will be followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home in Franklin. In lieu of flowers the family asked you make a donation to Happy Tales Humane in Franklin, TN in Barbara Wells honor. WILLIAMSON MEMORIAL

BUTTERCUP FESTIVAL

It is that time AGAIN ! The 11th annual

Buttercup Festival

takes place this Saturday-APRIL 2nd from 10:00am-4:00pm in the historic district of Nolensville.

   Debbie and I have been busy changing the stores all around- merchandising everything outside and attending meetings to offer a fantastic day in Nolensville. The stores will be full-the village will be alive with vendors selling their wares-artisans of all kinds. All those fabulous food vendors that you can only find at festivals-ie grilled corn on the cob-locally made BBQ that sells out by early afternoon-shaved ice, funnel cakes and of coarse fried oreos ! I am dyeing with anxiety.
   Many of historic Nolensvilles landmarks will be open for free tours. The Nolen/McCord home that is being restored by Alfred and Evelyn Bennett will be open for the first time. This home is the foundation of Nolensville. It was the home of the Nolen family of the 1700's that settled and established Nolensville. The beautiful exposed logs inside are a must see. To imagine those logs have been formed as a home since the late 1700's is just astonishing.
   The historical society will have many free activities for kids including getting to meet "Buttercup" the cow-a artificial cow with simulated utters so that children can see what it feels like to milk a real cow. Live goats and possibly other small animals will be there for the kids to see.
    Local entertainers will perform throughout the day including the Elite dancers as well as bluegrass music-all of which is FREE !
    Merchants will have special sales so don't miss out on this wonderful tradition in our great small town.

Back from Market --Back to REALITY !

So Debbie and I spent four days in Atlanta picking out treasures to compliment our antique and vintage collections. My hat is off to one tough partner I have. Debbie was fighting an upper resperatory bug but thanks to drugs and her strong will we marched on--ALL DAY all four days ! If you have never been to a retail buyers market-it is simply mind boggling-senses overwhelming and lots of people doing the same as you. Even through it all we came back with lots ordered and hearts filled with the excitement of a New Year. While away both stores did great business so busy we must get. Painted furniture still seems to be the trend and it is going out as fast as we can get it painted.

Here is a little glimpse into the store now with it changing every day as things come in and others go out-----------oh isn't it so fun !!!

In five words ...We Have The Best Customers !!! Thanks for coming out to support us Friday and Saturday for the Soles4Souls charity event. Over 200 pair of shoes were collected and we are so very thankful. Can you imagine the look on someones face as they receive those shoes ? To help another human being is simply the best and what this time of year is all about to me. The best part about giving a gift for me is to see that persons reaction-I just LOVE that ! I wish I could see all 200.

Thanks to Tarryn Feldman for jumping out there and being proactive for a great cause and organizing this event. She is young-she is a mover and shaker-she is going to make a great impact on this world in a wonderful way in her long life ! If you ever need an organizer or a sharp young lady to work with you let me know-she is FAB !

Tis the Season-Three French Hens Style

We kicked off the holiday season with our Open House on November 6th and then placed the cherry atop the proverbial Christmas cupcake with CHRISTMAS in the VILLAGE the two days following Thanksgiving ! Once again we were so blessed to have Santa Claus and his Elf to join us on Friday to greet the small and not so small alike. Everyone had the chance to tell the man in red all of there holiday wishes-even a few confessions of not being so nice. It was a fun filled two days of good food and even better fellowship with the greatest customers two gals could ever dream of. Here is a small peak at our spirit of Christmas-enjoy !

You guessed right...Santa and his helper elf ! OR...My great business partner Debbie's husband as Santa and my husband as his Elf. Thanks so much to our guys for being such good sports and making our event so very special for all. It really is amazing how jolly we all become around guys in red and green suits-just look at Debbie and myself !

Sometimes we have huge success junkin and others we just have to settle on smaller but still oh so cute discoveries. That is what I would call todays haul. For Debbie and I to go out "shopping" and return with only one truck full lets just say that is a light shopping day for us. BUT--we still had a blast as we always do-lusting over rusty stuff that we have to ask "what is it" and visiting with good friends that also have the same disease that we do. :>)

that is me (Stacey) on the left cold and wet ! A white short jacket was all that I had in the truck and you know a girl has to do what a girl has to do. In the middle is one of our dear friends, Tawnya Norton. Tawnya has a booth in Three French Hens and also has an adorable little shop in Brentwood Tennessee called Cest Moi'. Go and visit her blog at shopcestmoi@blogspot.com. She has a wonderful eye at buying new gift and blending it splendidly with vintage treasures. That is my fabulous partner Debbie on the far right. I guess it could be a full blown blizzard or hurricane and we would all still be out there weathering the elements if we thought there was a cute treasure/ piece of junk to be bought ! We always have a great time together and today was no different !

I know -I know-you are probably thinking...get to the finds!

Here comes one of our favorite dealers-now wouldn't you just go nuts if you saw a truck loaded like that coming your way-oh my goodness I am getting excited all over again just looking at the pictures !

And here is yet another ! Andy is not only a dealer we love to buy from but also a great man-just a fine guy we are lucky to call a friend !

You choose your adjective-I adore this old bread metal stand. This will be fabulous holding linens in the store but a person could use this piece for so many different things, a laundry room, studio holding ones supplies, a childs room for toys etc etc- Oh am I a happy girl !!!

Speaking of coming out -I suggest FRIDAY -NOVEMBER 26th.

That begins CHRISTMAS in the VILLAGE in the historic district of Nolensville Tennessee. All of the merchants will be serving refreshments-having store specials and you will most likely spot Ole Saint Nick visiting around the village. Bring the family-bring your camera-bring an appetite and cash /card would be handy too as there will be treasures you will not be able to live without.

Thanksgiving has taken on a much deeper meaning for me in the last 19 months. I never dreamed of being a small business owner much less the owner of TWO business'. God has a path for each and every person, I firmly believe this. When we let go and allow God to lead us the magic of our destiny is an amazing adventure.
    Twenty eight years ago as I graduated from high school my destiny was set- I was a licensed hairstylist and that is what I would be as I grew up ! Well....it was for a while--then would follow a stint in retail, merchandising, teaching , management, motherhood and many other opportunities along lifes road. Soemthing I have come to realize, they all had one common denominator-CREATIVITY !
   That is what I am most thankful for ! God has given me a gift of the ability to create and I am so humbled and thankful not only for the gift but also for the ability to express that I have it. It has taken me 28 years to do so and to be comfortable in saying so. During this season of Thanksgiving celebrate who you are and the gifts that are within. My life is so very blessed having a family that supports me 100% in my business and having a business partner that is also my bff and incredibly creative and talented herself. Life has aligned itself so perfectly and this girl could not be more thankful and appreciative.

What makes your heart flutter?

One of the greatest joys of owning two antique and gift stores is the treasure hunt ! When pursuing the hunt you never know how things are going to go. I find myself thinking back to when I was a little girl fishing with my dad. One thing that has always been the same since I was born - I love to talk-love to communicate. My dad would often have to say--shhhhh Stacey-be quiet and patient and the catch will come to you. Sometimes we caught allot and sometimes we caught few but we almost ALWAYS caught something. Treasure hunting is so the same. The curiousity always builds such excitement within me-will I find lots or will I find few??? Oh my gosh has this last week and a half been THE BIG CATCH! It has been a blast ! From a couple of great estate sales to an auction that simply left me squealing I have so remembered how fun it was to be that little girl that came home with a stringer full of a big catch...I just love my life-my dad would be proud even though I still can't be quiet ! :>)

The cream of this current crop is a gorgeous set of French Empire bedroom furniture ! (even though I must admit my secret-the old fish stringer loaded with old rusty keys made my heart flutter the very most )

What's HOT at The Hen House besides our 90+ temperatures...it is painted furniture !

I am having a love hate relationship with my old building right now. I love the history-the ambiance etc, etc...but these days and this heat-let's just say--the girl goes home at the end of the day feeling like some of our chippy painted objects. Feel like I am a bit "weathered" if you will. But...my wonderful customers and dealers keep me remembering why I love this business so. When I see a customers excitement over finding that perfect treasure and then when my dealers bring in awesome merchandise that just makes my heart melt (oh bad choice of words) - I become charged with renewed energy !

Let me take a moment of a little show and share since speaking of painted hot furniture--take a peak at a few treasures just in at TFH...

How about this fabulous three drawer chest? All original paint-all five or more colors--is this fab or what!

Then we have this great Lilly Pulitzer inspired bookcase painted in a wonderful turquoise with lime green side panels and just this slighest bit of distressing-just plain fun!

OR...feeling like a dreamsicle (ohhh...does that sound good, cool and refreshing )-sorry ,it must be the heat! Check out this great vintage Duncan Phyfe table that had some serious vaneer issues so distressed dreamsicle tangerine was one dealers answer-how fun huh?!

Of coarse the fun rich colors are not all -fall in love with these -I know I sure have!

Talent abounds at Three French Hens ! We are filled with so many more fun finds . Now I find myself inspired -cooled off-feeling like I want to get hot with a paint brush myself...you just can't ever make a woman content ! Oh well.....here is hoping you are inspired~

Historic Floods 2010...Three French Hens is BACK!

Well actually...we never left!

How odd that I would use a "water" reference in my one and only post ...then almost exactly one year later we would face historic floods in our great city. As a native Nashvillian it is a very sad event to endure. SO MANY of our people are affected. Some losing a few things to many losing everything. I never thought a hurricane could hit Tennessee but it may as well had-the results are all the same. While being incredibly sad I am also so very proud to call myself a Tennessean. To see our community join together to help one another-we come by our name as the "Volunteer State" very honest and graciously. We will overcome this ! Please keep our wonderful citizens in your prayers-the recovery will be long BUT we will recover. Thank you so very much.

As to Three French Hens we did have approximately one inch of water in many areas of the lower level of our almost one hundred year old building. Fortunately for us the old building is not level so the water receded about as fast as it came in when the rain finally stopped. We had a bit of a mess to clean up but did not lose anything so we were very fortunate.

Three French Hens Grand Opening

Wow...hello world-Three French Hens is open for business........and blogging !
It is hard to believe I have gone from engulfing myself around beautiful blogs for a long time to now having our own. Follow your dreams and leave those fears behind-a moto I am trying to live by more and more each day and is today ever proof of that. I am not the most computer literate passenger on this boat of life so this if a bit un-nerving . I suppose you could say I have just jumped in without the life jacket-up the creek without the paddle but am happy to leave the fear on the bank to see where this current takes me.

Now let me tell you of my newest dream come true-the opening of a wonderful antiques-decorating and gifts store in quaint historic Nolensville Tennessee called THREE FRENCH HENS.

My business partner and myself set out on this dream on April 1 and on June 6th our Grand Opening came to fruition and what a huge success it was. Many thanks to our regular customers and new found friends that discovered our charming home away from home-it was a very blessed day.

A little history on our wonderful setting-the building was constructed in1921 by the Williams family and was a Chevy dealership. The building is two stories tall however the unique twist to the story is that the lower level was the mechanics area and the car showroom was on the second story. There remains a door on the back side of the building that is on a pulley system that would open and then a ramp was put up to drive a car upstairs. An amazing thought that I ponder each and every time I am in the great old building.
